Excellent reading July 12, 2010 Happy Camper Excellent book for anyone considering Fulltime RVing or anyone purchasing a new RV who have not RV'd before. Very good topics and the writter includes a lot of humor to keep things funny.
Very Pleased July 9, 2010 TerriInLA I just purchased a second hand travel trailer and was looking for all the information I could get my hands on. I ordered this book for $1.34 plus shipping. Great book. It arrived timely and in nearly new condition. The best $5 bucks I ever spent!
Best of a Bad Lot July 4, 2010 Herbert W. Stanford III 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book out of desperation. I was exploring the idea of getting an RV and began a search for a good reference on the topic of RVing to aid in my search. I looked at several books and most were too detailed or simply a glossy overview. This one, while lacking somewhat in details, does appear to serve as a good reference...thought the author's preference for Class A RVs colors everything he says in the book.
The book did convince me that I do not have the right personality to be an RVer....the chapter on campgrounds immediately turned me off from buying an RV.
Very good resource March 17, 2010 Oldfrat (Boulder, CO USA) I'm considering buying a pop-up. My library had "The Everything Family Guide" and "The complete book of Boondock". I learned a bit from both books. "Boondock" devotes about half of its length to RV electrical systems. I may need to study it more at some point, but it really put me to sleep now. Glad it is there as a reference, but not sure it will help a lot of us. I'll study it and stay awake if I ever decide to spend 3+ nights in the boondocks.
The Complete Idiot's Guide has very mixed reviews here, but I needed more than I had from the other two books so I took a chance and bought it. I am very glad I did! Yes, it is written in a conversational style, but it does not require that you slog through a vaudeville routine to get the info you want. It is way more helpful than the other two books. I learned a lot, including some things that will save me a lot of money and trouble. This book left me feeling comfortable about buying an RV. I doubt it will help an experienced RV'er, but it is a real help for us newbies!
Great Book for Newbie RVers! September 17, 2009 Catherine Houston (Fulltiming on an RV! *From Toronto Canada, but heart is in Cocoa Beach Florida*) This was a good read for my husband and I when we first set out fulltiming at the age of 25! Sure there is the 'cute humor' which seems to be present in many of the Complete Idiots Guides, but we didn't mind:-)
